Tasting notes
La Calavera, Spanish for 'skull' and where Calaveras County gets its name. This is NO ORDINARY BLEND of the noble grapes of Spain and Argentina! Rather than make Tempranillo and Malbec as separate wines and blending them while aging, this wine was Co-fermented by mixing the grapes themselves before fermentation! This process allows for the chemistry and flavors of both varieties to ferment together to create great complexity and exhibits rich aromas of berries and sandalwood spice, followed by flavors of cherries, cassis, and blackberry.
50% Tempranillo, 50% Malbec
