Aged beautifully!  Tasting great and with complex aromas of cassis, cherries, and cedar which give way to concentrated flavors of blackcurrant and black cherry, framed with vanilla nuances.  Yummy!

This blend of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and 25% Cabernet Franc, this classic Bordeaux style blend exhibits classic cherry and cassis aromas followed by flavors of all types of cherry, blackberries, and a frame of toasty oak nuances from 30 months of age in French oak barrels

These vines are planted in a direct southerly exposure, which gives optimum balance of ripeness and acidity.  Complex aromas of cassis, cherries, and cedar give way to concentrated flavors of black currant and black cherry, framed with vanilla nuances

This year's signature blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec pack loads of fruit characters!  On the nose there is a touch of cedar and spice that really accenuates the cherry and cassis aromas.  On the palate we have dense black cherry and currant flavors given by Cabernet and textbook blackberry characters from Merlot. Malbec gives a bit of extra weight, and there is a touch of oak on the finish.

Warm days and cool nights are perfect growing conditions for this noble grape variety of Rioja, Spain.  Aromas of raspberries, blackberries and vanilla give way to intense and voluptuous flavors of plums, cherries, and berries.  Tempranillo is our favorite for spicy Cajun, Mexican, or Spanish Tapas

Our very first La Calavera was an instant hit! We made this blend purely by luck, wishing to create a special label to celebrate day of the dead...So we just played around with some blending and wound up combining 50% Tempranillo 36% Malbec and 14% Petite Sirah. In its youth this wine was very well balanced with rich wild berries galore both in its aromas and on the palate. In recent tasting in late 2023 it is still drinking beautifully!

The motherlode region is famous for Zinfandel, and our Zin comes from thirty year old vines in the Dogtown area in the hills above Angels Camp. Aromas of plums and blackcurrant greet the senses, and on the palate we find blackberry and wild berry flavors along with a little pepper spice. A nicely balanced California classic!!

This is our favorite!  It has buckets of wild berries coming to the ose and complex flavors, with layers of Blackcurrant, Blueberry, and Backberry Jam!

In Calaveras County, warm days, cool nights and low humidity make the ideal climate for Malbec, and here we have aromas of cherries, raspberries and lavender spice and flavors kind of like a Cherry Jolly Rancher

A new vintage of Barbera is here!  This, our final vintage from the 30 year old Metzger Vineyard, is a richer and more robust style of Barbera compared to previous years, with rich blackberry fruit and a touch of chocolate on the nose and a whole bunch of berry jam on the palate. 

After a bombastic release of our 2017 vintage of this esteemed wine, we again bring you a delicious Cabernet Franc.  Aromas of berries, floral notes of violets and just a hint of white pepper spice give way to abundant, rich flavors of black cherry and wild berries and a really long finish.
